Learn Kitesurfing in Valdevaqueros, Tarifa

at Liam Whaley Pro Center

My team and I are here to guide you through your first kitesurfing lessons in Valdevaqueros, Tarifa — with care, clear instruction, and safety as a priority from day one.

You'll learn directly in front of our beachfront Pro Center on one of Tarifa's most open and wind-consistent beaches. Every lesson includes premium Duotone kitesurf gear, selected and adjusted to your level before you go on the water.

Whether it's your first time on a kite or you're here to refine your riding, we'll guide you with focus and care — so you can experience that moment when everything clicks and wind, water, and control finally come together.

A personal welcome

Former World Champion Liam Whaley

"I still remember the first time everything aligned — the wind, the water, my body, my focus. The noise stopped. Everything else faded away"

That feeling is why this place exists.

Not just to teach you how to kitesurf — but to help you experience what it truly feels like. When control replaces hesitation. When the kite becomes an extension of your own body.

Every decision we make comes from that moment.

Why learn kitesurfing in Tarifa?

"Tarifa is a place every kitesurfer should experience at least once. Not just for the wind — but for what happens around it. People come here from all over the world. Different levels, different backgrounds, all drawn by the same conditions and shared energy." — Liam

Strong, consistent wind and wide open beaches make Tarifa one of the best places in the world to learn.

At first, the wind can feel intense. That's normal. Learning here teaches you how to read it — and once that clicks, it stops feeling like a challenge and starts feeling like the reason you came.

Where We Teach in Valdevaqueros

Our lessons take place directly in front of the Pro Center — the same beach where I learned to kitesurf growing up.

Valdevaqueros works well for learning because everything is in one place:

✔️ Space on land to prepare, handle lines, and launch calmly

✔️ Room on the water to body drag, practice water starts, and build confidence

✔️ No moving between locations — you arrive, we brief, you ride

As you progress, nothing changes. Same spot, more independence, support close when you need it.

How our kitesurfing lessons work

Every lesson starts by understanding where you’re at and where you want to go.

Before going on the water, we assess your level, your experience, and the conditions of the day.

From there, the session is planned so progression feels approachable and never rushed.

Beginners focus on building understanding and control before getting on the board. If you already ride, sessions are shaped around refining technique and riding more independently.

Across the team, the approach stays the same: safety comes first. Clear communication, calm decisions, and enough time on the water to really understand what’s happening.

The goal is simple:
you leave knowing what you worked on, what your next step is, and having fun on the water — without ever compromising safety.

All lesson packages include full equipment.
You don’t need to travel with gear — everything is ready for you at the Pro Center.

If you’re unsure which option fits you best, we’re happy to help you choose.

Learning with the Right Gear from Day One

Your First Step into Kitesurfing Starts with a Beginner Kite from Duotone

All lessons use premium, beginner-friendly Duotone kites that are easy to fly and easy to understand from the first session.

Before every lesson, kite size and board setup are chosen based on your level, your weight, and the conditions of the day.

Lessons are taught with one kite and one board in use, included in your package.

Because the Pro Center is right on the beach, we can adjust or change kites during the session if conditions shift.

Everything Else You Need Is Included

All lessons include full equipment. You don’t need to bring anything with you.

We provide ION wetsuit, harness, impact vest, and helmet, all prepared and fitted before you go on the water.

Once you’re riding independently, you can continue progressing with on-water supervision, gear rental, and the option to test Duotone equipment as part of your rental.

Happy Students , Our Number One Goal

Learning kitesurfing is a personal experience.

Everyone arrives with different expectations, fears, and goals — and our focus is always on making people feel comfortable, supported, and genuinely stoked on the water.

The feedback we receive reflects that approach. Clear progression, calm instruction, and the feeling of being looked after from the first session to the last.

And it doesn’t always end on the water. Here, people often stay after the session — sharing a drink, talking about the day, and letting everything settle as the sun goes down.

Below you’ll find reviews from students who learned with us in Valdevaqueros — beginners, returning riders, and travelers from all over the world.
